With Christmas just around the corner, it’s safe to say we’ve officially wrapped up our 2016 wedding season with an intimate & fun wedding. Over the last year, Drysen and I have loved working with and getting to know Jon & Kaity. We started working with them during their engagement session just outside of Brandon SD at the Beaver Creek Nature Area.
Jon & Kaity set their wedding date for November 12th, 2016. We all know how the weather in South Dakota can be, and a November wedding was a little bit of a gamble. However, it paid off! The weather was perfect! With green grass and still a few leaves on the trees, their wedding day was beautiful.
The day started with the girls getting ready at Chameleon Hair Design in Sioux Falls. They were having a lot of fun chatting and relaxing, while they got their hair done. Afterwards they headed out the “Bridges at Beresford“, where the ceremony and reception were being held at. The Bridges had some great options for space! The girls had a separate room to get ready in which was awesome. They even had a main room with a dividing wall to give the Ceremony & Reception some separation.
Once all the girls & guys arrived, we started with a First Look. Kaity wanted a first look with her father Clif, and another with her soon-to-be spouse Jon. I love those special moments when the Bride and Groom see each other for the first time that day. Kaity had a gorgeous winter shawl for herself and her bridesmaids, which kept her warm and looked fantastic.
The wedding party was a lot of fun to work with and kept pictures entertaining. The colors really came together with the Coral bouquets popping out against the gray dresses. Jon even brought out his pride and joy F-150 for a few wedding pictures.
After family pictures everyone headed inside to settle down before the Ceremony began. Drysen provided music & a microphone for the ceremony. Their officiant, Reverend Gary Dawes, is actually Kaity’s second cousin. If I understand correctly, Gary even officiated at Kaity’s parents’ wedding! It was great seeing that family connection coming together. Having family officiating the ceremony helped to fill the room with laughs and happy tears. It’s obvious that Jon & Kaity were made for each other.
After the ceremony, Kaity & Jon thanked their guests before heading to the reception room. Kaity & Jon put a lot of thought, time, & effort into designing their room! Jon even built a beautiful wooden backdrop for the head table. Drysen added a few uplights to make it pop. The entire room was full of details which brought color and style to the room.
Drysen did a fantastic job setting the uplighting around the room.
The reception started out with a grand entrance where Drysen introduced each of the bridesmaids and groomsmen. The wedding party even made a tunnel for Kaity and Jon to travel through!
The rest of the evening was so great! We started out with the first dances, and then everybody jumped onto the floor. During the Garter Auction, Kaity’s dad Cliff ran the show. When it was time to remove the garter, there was an issue…. It was stuck! But Jon being mechanically inclined, broke out his mechanic’s tools to remove the garter. Success!
As I was packing up for the night, I found Carl getting into some trouble on an abandoned cake plate. He must have been feeling rebellious with it being the end of the wedding season! And it’s been a fantastic wedding season indeed. Thank you so much to Jon & Kaity for allowing 3 Cord Weddings to serve as your DJ & Photographer! Good luck, and God Bless guys.
