Feel like your feet haven’t touched the ground since you said “YES!?”
Can you believe there is a new beautiful new band wrapped around that finger?
Are there millions of questions bouncing around your mind, and you don’t know where to start?
You aren’t the only one. We have been there, too!
It amazes me how each and every bride has these same feelings no matter the relationship, proposal, and the plan for the wedding. The butterflies and excitement was all I could focus on when Drysen popped the big question. Every time we sit down to discuss an upcoming wedding, I go back to those feelings all over again.
So where do you start? Here are 4 tips to help you stay on that wedding cloud #9:
- FOLLOW A WEDDING PLANNER CHECKLIST
You can download a free wedding planner like this one from TheKnot or you can order one spiral bound with all the bells and whistles.
Here are 3 Cord Weddings,we have our own 150 question checklist to make sure nothing is missed and that every ‘t’ is crossed and “i” dotted. This will be very useful the day when your attention is elsewhere and you need facts fast.
- DO YOUR RESEARCH
Don’t take shortcuts or let someone talk you out off finding the best vendor for your wedding. Your dream wedding should be cost effective, however, cheap is not the first thing that comes to mind when describing the big day.
Remember that having a fully thought out budget allows to you to spend extra on the areas that are important to you and important for remembering your day well.
- THINK ABOUT IT AND DECIDE LATER
It feels like there are so many things to cross off the list and taking time will only delay other decisions. I promise you, sleep on it.
If you are not 100% sure, or in agreement with your future spouse, it is worth stepping back and re-evaluating with a fresh perspective to get it right and truly cross it once and for all.
- LEARN HOW TO PROBLEM SOLVE WITH YOUR FIANCEE.
You have learned so much about each other while dating. Now you have an exciting wedding to plan and many couples learn, there are new stresses when trying to get it “just right.”
Remember, there is no perfect wedding if the two of you are not happy. Problem solving is key.
Drysen and I have experienced so many wonderful times together and yet, it has been the difficult ones that have taught us how our bond is truly important. You have already created history together and you have a lifetime to look forward to together.
This is one adventure to many more to come. We look forward to hearing how it started and the magical moment in the proposal.
We’ll even treat you both to pizza to celebrate, and hopefully, cross a couple items off the list.
